A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, APPROVING A CHANGE TO THE CONTRACT
BY A CONTRACT AMENDMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN AND THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT REGARDING THE ADVANCED CABLE SERVICES
TEXAS CAPITAL FUND CONTRACT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE
SUBMISSION OF THIS AMENDMENT REQUEST; AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Georgetown City Council has reviewed and approves the change in the
project site for Advanced Cable Services from Lot 5, in the subdivision known as the Georgetown
Technology Park to Lot 1, in the subdivision known as McDaniel Park, a subdivision of Williamson
County, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has acknowledged that because of the change in property sites
there has been a delay in the start of construction. The City Council approves a request to the Texas
Department to delay the first lease payment from Advanced Cable Services from November 1, 1996,
to six months after the Certificate of Construction Completion is signed.
WHEREAS, the City Council acknowledges that because of the delay in the start of
construction authorization is needed for the submission of a new implementation schedule to the
Texas Department of Economic Development.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
resolution implements the following policy or policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element:
Economic Development Policy End 1.0, which states: "Georgetown's economy is
self-sustaining through diversified growth, a broad tax base with minimal impact
from economic fluctuation, enhanced business opportunity and job creation." and
2. Governmental Affairs Policy End 6.0, which states: "A high level of
cooperation and involvement exists among Georgetown's citizens and
governmental organizations."
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas hereby approves of the
delay in the lease payments and the submission of a new implementation schedule to the Texas
Department of Economic Development.

SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute the amendment and otherwise act
on the City's behalf in all matters pertaining to the submission of this amendment.
SECTION 4. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and the City Secretary to attest thereto
this resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 5. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
