A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, DECLARING A CITY -OWNED VEHICLE AS
SURPLUS PROPERTY AND CONVEYING THAT VEHICLE TO THE
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown recently acquired a "Dillo" bus from the Capital Area
Transportation Authority for use as public transportation; and
WHEREAS, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce can more conceivably provide that
service to the citizens of Georgetown.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
resolution implements the Transportation Policy of the Century Plan Policy Elements - which states:
"Georgetown's transportation system provides for the safe and efficient movement of traffic,
promotes the economic interests of the community, and adequately serves the needs of individuals"
and Governmental Affairs Policy End - which states: "A high level of cooperation and involvement
exists among Georgetown citizens and governmental organizations"; and further finds that the
adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies,
as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The "Dillo" bus is hereby declared to be surplus property.
SECTION 3: The City Manager is authorized to transfer the ownership of the "Dillo" bus
to the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.
SECTION 4: The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and the City Secretary to attest to this
resolution.
SECTION 5. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
