The mission of the Georgetown Convention and Visitors Bureau is to:
Encourage the community's economic success through promotion of Georgetown as a tourist destination.
Preserve, promote and enhance the cultural heritage and unique character of the community.
Attract visitors to maximize the financial impact of tourism on the community.
The Convention & Visitor Bureau Board met on Friday, July 11 at 8:30 am at Convention an4-
Visitors Bureau Office, located at 103 W. 7t" Street, Georgetovvm, Texas.
Members Present: Don McCullough, Nancy Benold, Karen Soeffker, Steven Harris,
Ray Dorton
Members Absent: Shelly Patel, Christy Fisher
Staff Present: Cari Miller
Guest: Julie Kunkle, Sr. Account Manager, Texas Monthly Magazin*

Motion by Harris, second by Dorton to approve minutes from the June 13, 2014 meeting.
Approved 5-0
Ms. Julie Kunkle, Sr. Account Manager for Texas Monthly (TM) provided a presentati•
detailing the opportunities/capabilities of Texas Monthly Digital (TMD) as a n
tool for the CVB. Focus of the discussion was TMD/TM magazine market
demographics; scope of support available through TMD; and TMD/TM magazine rate
structure for a single advertisement/article/event or annual contract.
4. Discussion and possible action regarding 2014-15 CVB Marketing Plan
Discussion was held regarding the current CVB Marketing Plan and how Texas Mont
could be utilized to further the CVB focus/plan. I
Motion by Harris, second by Benold directing Miller to work with Texas Monthly on
?dvertising options and present to the CVB Board at the August meeting. Approved 5-1.
The Red Poppy Festival Subcommittee has not met since last CVB Board meeting thus
no update was available.
Discussion conducted regarding the utilization of a citywide coupon book/passport punch
card to be provided to visitors through the CVB Visitor Center and participating
merchants to encourage their utilization of local merchants. SoefIker volunteered to
pursue local town square area merchant's participation in the program. Volunteer needed
to seek additional merchants within the city boundaries to participate in the program.
Brief discussion was held regarding encouragement of more weekday activities/
[�articipation including the need for some form of Sunday activity for aftemoon/evening
[#,eriod.
7. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of
upcoming events.
Brief discussion of the advertising and media exposure and upcoming event dates was
conducted. CVB June Monthly Report is attached.
