WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has received a request for the Vacation and railroadAbandonment of the public right-of-way commonly known as Clamp Street between the right of way and east to Maple Street,the Revised Plat of Clamp's Addition the City of Georgetown, which street has never been constructed or right of way utilized for purposes; WHEREAS, the City o i# - • -• s-'! received a requestfor Abandonment of the alleyway located south of Eighth Street between the railroad right of way and east to Maple Street, in the Revised Plat of Clamp's Addition to the City of Georgetown,- - been -a as an alleyway; - City of -• !-'•wn currently has utilitiess w -r or proposed • be located within the rightof of !hth Street and within the alleyway southof it WHEREAS, upon considering the request for Vacation and Abandonment and additional information pertaining to the request, the City Council now finds that the retention of a public utility easement within the right of way of Eighth Street and within the alleyway s• of ahth Street will be sufficient to - needs provider; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT" OF OTEXAS,THAT: lar Page 1 of 2 finds that this resolution implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Polirm Plal: M 1. Growth and Physical Development Policy 1, which states: "The City I ensure that future land use patterns provide econOrniG, cultural, and soci activities to all residents, businesses and organizations, and i 2. Ittilities/Energy Policy 2, which states: "The City will establish Utility policies which take into consideration the needs of all citizens of the community and take necessary precautions to prevent harmful ecological impact on the environment." The City Council further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict With any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of th4 Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Quit Claim Deed in the form attached as Exhibit A abandoning the following public areas: (1) the public right of way commonly known as Eighth Street between the railroad right of way and east to Maple Street, (2) the right of way commonly known as Clamp Street between the railroad right of way and east to Maple Street, and (3) the alleyway located south of Eighth Street between the railroad right of way and east to Maple Street, all of which are located in the Revised Plat of Clamp's Addition to the City of Georgetown, and the City Secretary to attest thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
