CHARGES — DISPOSAL - SCHE` OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN- REPEALING CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES ! !INCLUDING
SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown contracts with Texas Disposal Systems for solid
waste disposal services; and
WHEREAS; the City of Georgetown approved a CPI increase to the contract in July
2014; and
WHEREAS, the current solid waste retail rates negotiated previously no longer cover the
cost of service; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown wishes to maintain the high level of solid waste
disposal services to which citizens have become accustom; and
WHEREAS, The City of Georgetown wishes to implement rates that fully recover the
cost of solid waste disposal service to make the utility self-supporting; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITl

Section 4. If any provision of this ordinance or application thereof to any person•
circumstance, shall be held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the other provisions,
application thereof, of this ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision
application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are hereby declared to be severable.]
Section 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to sign this ordinance and the City Secretary
to attest. This Ordinance shall become effective and be in fall force and effect on all billings
after October 1, 2014, in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of
Georgetown.

C. If service is rendered during any portion of any month, the customer will be required
to pay a pro -rated fee for service.
D. Customers requesting replacement of the City -provided sanitation container three or
more times in a calendar year, may be required to pay a replacement fee equal to the cost
incurred by the Contractor to replace it. Such fee will be charged to the Customer's
utility bill as a one-time charge
