HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 081214-C - Altern Gtown Village PIDRESOLUTION# 02101H —C A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS APPOINTING ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE GEORGETOWN VILLAGE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. I ADVISORY BOARD; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on September 15, 1998, a petition was filed for the creation of the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. I for the purpose of providing a mechanism to maintain certain common improvements and amenities through assessments, and said petition contemplated the management of the district by a board of seven (7) members; and WHEREAS, by Resolution, the City Council granted the Petition for the improvement district and convened an advisory board consisting of five (5) members to assist in the evaluation of the proposed improvement district, including preparation of the Service and Assessment Plan and the amount of the assessment to be levied-, and WHEREAS, the Georgetown City Code of Ordinances Section 2.115, "GEORGETOVvN VILLAGE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. I ADVI ORY BOARD," provi es or a Board membership of seven members including five resident homeowner members and two development members and up to three alternates; and WHEREAS, the Board has recommended to the City Council that the resident board member alternates to be appointed are Michael M. Mullenix and Steve Goodman as shown in Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the public's best interest to make the appointments as recommended by the Board. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: Section 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by referencs herein and expressly made a part hereof as if copied verbatim. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Georgetown hereby makes the following appointments to the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. I Advisory Board, and such appointments shall be effective in accordance with the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District No. I Advisory Board Governing Rules - Resolution No. n f( a I Ll - C Page I of 2 Subject: V' k 4a t. These members will be appointed to two year terms in accordance with the governing rules of the Georgetown Village Public Improvement District # 1. Section 4. Mullenix — Resident of Georgetown Village whose address is 801 Bedford Court Steve Goodman - Resident of Georgetown Village whose address is 718 Westbury Lane We respectfully request that the Georgetown City Council appoint these individuals to 2 -year terms as Alternate Board Members, pursuant to the Board's nomination in accordance with the Governing Rules. Currently, The PID Board does not have any Alternate Board Members. With the appointment of Mr. Mullenix and Mr. Goodman as Alternate Board Members, the PID will have two of three Alternate Board Member positions filled.
