This is a regular meeting of the I lousing Advisory Board of the City of Georgetown. The Roard,
appointed by the Mayor and the City Council, makers recommendations to the City Council on
affordable housing matters.
Regular Session - To begin no earlier than 3:30 p.m.

A. Consideration; and possible action to approve minutes from the July 16, 2014 meeting.
Motion by Board Member Baxter to approve the minutes horn the June 18, 2014

B. Update. on the Home Repair Appilication for 211 W: 11 F Stro.eL. --Jennifer C. Bills,
Housing Coordinator

on the house, so it will no longer be considered a potential project for the home repair
program Bills a so updalvd the board on the Madison house. Bids are being finalized.
The project is estirnated to cost $20,000 and will be limited to demolishing the back
portion of the structure mid adding a laundry I oorn.

The presentation was reviewed at the last mecting, and Several Board Members ennailed
Suggested changes Board Member Doering liked the additional benefits listed in the
presentation and Chaim Woodard cautioned against comparing initiatives between different

jurisdictions. the Board also requested general grammatical edits throughool the
]sr septa tion.
Chair Woodard asked what the Bo ird eau xpect (torn Goi;ncil. F3ilis replied that the
purpose of the presenta*,ion is to get buy in from the City Council prior to securing formal
approval to amend the UDC and development incentives. The Board then di
possible objections that the Council would have to their proposal.
Board Member Givurnik sugge5teld that certain projects should be'fast-tracked' via statf
approval if applicants meet certain criteria. This would be an additional incentive to
develop affordable housing.
Board Member Cambone suggested that the Board work on developing publicity for the
Work that it is doing. Specifically, he soggesied press releases to local publications. 17N2
Board discussed following up on this idea at next month's meeting.
