GEORGETOWN, TEXAS RELATING TO APPOINTMENT OF AN INTERIM
CITY MANAGER.
WHEREAS, pursuant Section 5.01 of the City Charter of the City of Georgetown, the City
Council appoints the City Manager who acts as the chief administrative and executive officer of
the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager serves at the will and pleasure of the City Council and reports
directly to the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it necessary to appoint an Interim City Manager.- and
SECTION ONE. The facts and recitations contained mi the preamble of this resolution a'
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. I

Interim City Managen The Interim City Manager shall have the same authority, powers
duties as the City Manager pursuant to City Charter, City Ordinances and State law. i
SECTION THREE. While acting as h-tterim City Manager, Jftn Briggs shall receive a ten percent
(10 %) increase m' his base salary as additional compensation. When a new City Manager is
appointed, Jim Briggs shall return to his position as General Manager of Utilities and receive the
corresponding base salary.

SECTION FIVE. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
