WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown is the major supplier/collector of water and
wastewater within its corporate limits; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that safe and efficient operation and maintenance
*f the existing water and wastewater treatment facilities is essential to the operation of the
City's Public Utilities Division; and
Y*THEREAS , this action will promote and enhance the educational and professional
opportunities of existing Public Utilities Division employees; and
WHEREAS, regulatory compliance shall be more efficiently maintained and
proactively enhanced, utilizing the services of Operations Management International, Inc;
and
WHEREAS, existing electrical load management strategies shall be enhanced with
the Public/Private partnership under this contract; and
NOW� THEREFORE, BE ff RESOLVED BY THE C][TY COUNCIL OF THE CITT
OF GEORGETOMN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the 0 s res on
are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference
herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby
finds that this resolution implements Utilities/Energy Policy 5 of the Century Plan - Policy
Plan Element, which states: "the City will provide water, wastewater, electricity, and solid
waste collection services which meet the immediate and future needs of all citizens and
which encourages and provides for economic development "; and further finds that the
adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan
Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.

attest thereto a contract agreement with Operations Manage7ment International, Inc. (0
for operations and maintenance of existing City of Georgetown water and wastew`t
treatment facilities on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
