WHEREAS, the City, in its Century Policy -Policy Plan, has found that the City should
take necessary steps to protect the physical attributes which make Georgetown attract ve; and;
WHEREAS, grants are available through the Texas Forest Service from the Small
Business Administration's Tree Planting Grant Program; and;
WHEREAS, it is beneficial and in the public interest for the City of Georgetown to
execute an application for a grant to plant trees on public property in Georgetown, Texas.
NOW, TBEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION t. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly
made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim.
SECTION 2. The City Council has found that this action implements Environmental and
Resource Conservation Policy 2 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, and is not found to
be inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policy as required by Section 2.03 of
the Administration Chapter of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 3. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an application to the
Texas Forest Service for a Small Business Administration Tree Planting Grant, a copy of said
application being attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein for all purposes.
SECTION 4. The Small Business Administration is hereby assured that the local cost
share, as more specifically set out in Exhibit "A" hereto, will be provided by the City of
Georgetown.

SECTION 5. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
