A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXASI AUTHORIZING THE PARKS AND
XARC.ffC1_A T
RECREATION ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAME AND THE CITY SECRETARY TO
ATTEST.
WHEREAS, the City, in its Century Plan -Policy Plan, has found that the city shaM
encourage all citizens to actively participate in community -wide social, cultural, and recreation
activities-, and, i
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, finds that the Parks and
F*xecreation Board has recommended by unanimous vote for Parks and Recreation staff to take
over the Georgetown Youth Recreation Programs; and,
WHEREAS, the City will promote programs for all ages including a "Saturday Only"
recreational activity for a wide range of youth who may not have the opportunity or the desire
to participate in programs demanding a higher level of skill, physical ability, or time demands;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that adding Georgetown Youth Recreation Association
programs into the current city recreational programs will benefit the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITJ`
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: I
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein an5-�j
expressly made; a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
ordinance implements Parks and Recreation Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element,
which states: "The City will endeavor to increase the quality of life through the upgrading of
existing facilities andservices-g �dthejrovision of new services to meet the specific needs of the
community.", and further finds that the enactment of this ordinance is not inconsistent or in

conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the AdministratiM
Chapter of the Policy Plan. I
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest
thereto this resolution which authorizes the Parks and Recreation Division to take over the
Georgetown Youth Recreation Association Programs on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
