HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 920186 - Quit Claim Deed Esmt BriarwoodRESOLUTION NO. 6?a(Dt 0 11 1 a & IVA in ig RIO 1*19112M#111121 WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has received an Application for the vacation of ten -foot -wide Public Utility Easements along the west property line of Lot 4 of Briarwood, Section I, Block D, Lot 4, as recorded in Cabinet D, Slides 337-338, of the Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, and located at 211 Briarwood Drive-, WHEREAS, upon considering the Application and addonal information pertaining to the Application, the City Council now finds that there are no utilities existing in the easements and that the utility companies serving the area including and surrounding the easements have determined that there exists no present or foreseeable need for the easements; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council finds that this action implements the following policies of the Century Plan - Policy Plan: I. Growth and Physical Development Policy 1, which states 'The City will ensure that future land use patterns provide economic, cultural, and social activities to all residents, busionesses and organizations. Z.) 2. Utilities/Energy Policy 2, which states 'The City will establish Utility policies which take into consideration the needs of all citizens of the community and take necessary precautions to prevent harmful ecological impact on the environment; ".and The City Council has found that this action is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. Form Resolution No. Q6 Page 1 of 2 SECTION 2 The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of Georgetown, a Quit Claim Deed abandoning the ten -foot -wide public utility easement along the west property line of Lot 4, Briarwood, Section I, Block D, as recorded in the records in Cabinet D, Slides 337-338 of Plat Records of Williamson County, Texas, and located at 211 Briiarwood Drive, and the City Secretary to attest thereto a contract on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
