TO SIGN APPLICATIONS, CONTRACTS, AND
AND THE STATE OF TEXAS, AND ESTABLISHING AN
F.FFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to make certain improvements to the
Georgetown Municipal Airport: and,
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to request financial assistance from the
Federal Aviation Administration and the Texas Department of Transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown intends to name the Texas Department of
Transportation as its agent for the purpose of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds
for these improvements and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation
of these improvements; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that these improvements are necessary for
the continued safe and efficient operation of the Georgetown Municipal Airport-,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
resolution implements Facilities and Services Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan
Elements, which states- "The City will endeavor to increase the quality of life through the
upgrading of existing facilities and services and the provision of new services to meet the
specific needs of the community"; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is not
inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of
the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.

SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby directed to execute, and the City Secretary to attest
thereto on behalf of the City of Georgetown, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate
authorizations of this governing body, all applications, contracts, and agreements with the United
States of America (represented by the Federal Aviation Administration), the State of Texas
(represented by the Texas Department of Transportation) and such other parties as shall be
necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to the Georgetown
Municipal Airport.
