WHEREAS, the United States Congress has passed the Land & Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965
(Public Law 88-578) for outdoor recreation purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Legislature has approved the Parks & Wildlife Code, Section 13.309 authorizing
the State of Texas, and its political subdivisions, to participate 'in the federal program established under said
Public Law 88-578; and,

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown is desirous of authorizing its administrative
staff to represent and act for the City in dealing with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department concerning this
program-,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY i;
' TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found
and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof,
as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this resolution implements Recreation and Cultural
Affairs Policy 2 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, which states, "the City will assist in providing all
its citizens the opportunity to participate in recreational and cultural programs"; and further finds tha�the
adoption of this resolution is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required
by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby certifies that the City of Georgetown is eligible to receive
zssistance under Section 13.302 of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Code, which implements Public 88-578, the
Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965. The City Council hereby authorizes and directs its City
Manager to represent and act for the City of Georgetown in dealing with the Texas Parks & Wildlife
1wepartment for the purposes of this program. The City Manager is hereby officially designated at the City's
representative in this regard.
SECTION 3. The City Council hereby designates its Director of Finance and Administration as the
official authorized to serve as the City's fiscal officer to receive federal funds for purposes of this program.
