A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, APPROVING THE RENOVATION OF THE
BUILDING OCCUPIED BY THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY APPRAISAL
DISTRICT.
WFMREAS, the Texas Property Tax Code, Section 6.051, effective January 1, 198
permits the acquisition, conveyanceconstruction or renovation of a building or othl
improvements by an Appraisal District, and it requires the approval by the voting taxing uni
of such acquisition, conveyance, construction or renovation by the Appraisal District; and i
V*TMREAS, after notice from the Chief Appraiser concerning the particulars of the
renovation project proposed by the Appraisal District, it appears that such renovation project is
in the best interests of the Appraisal District and the taxing units;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN9 TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution a
ftereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference h-- --- 11
expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that th
resolution implements Governmental Affairs Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Eleme
which states: "The City will actively pursue increased cooperation with all other entities whi
provide services in the community."; and further finds that the adoption of this resolution is n
inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03
the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan. I
SECr10N 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attem
thereto this resolution on behalf of the City of Georgetown showing approval of the renovati

SECrION 3. By this approval, the City of Georgetown evidences its approval of the
proposed renovation project in all respects.

PROMOTION OF TOURISM, CONVENTIONS,
HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITY FOR THE
CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas ("City") seeks to promote tourism,
convention activity, and historical and cultural activity within the City; and,
71'AEREAS, signage and related advertising are needed to provide effective tourism and
convention promotion for the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce has faithfully provided these
cervices for the past fiscal year; and,
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into a contract with the Georgetown Chamber of
Commerce to provide advertising services for the Convention & Visitors Bureau office, to be
funded out of hotel/motel tax funds; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are
hereby found and declared to be true and correct and are incorporated by reference herein and
expressly made a part hereof as if copied verbatim. The City Council hereby finds that this
action implements Economic Development Policy #4 of the Century Plan Policy Plan element,
which states, "The City will develop and promote the tourism industry in Georgetown" and is
not found to be inconsistent with or in conflict with anW other Centuriri Plam#r*J-*vir*ir-"tquiref
by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.
Section 2. The City approves the funding agreement with the Georgetown Chamber of
Commerce for providing signage and related advertising services to the Convention & Visitors
Fltureau to assist in the promotion of tourism, conventions, historical and cultural activity. A
copy of the agreement is attached as Exhibit A.

Section 3. The Mayor is authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto
a funding agreement with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the City of
Georgetown.
