HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 910059 - Eliminate Position Health OfficerA RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN) TEXAS TO ELIMINATE THE POSITION OF CITY HEALTH OFFICER. WHEREAS, staff has researched the City's historical records to determine if a City ordinance existed requiring that the City maintain the position of City Health Officer; and WHEREAS, it was found that the City of Georgetown had in fact enacted an ordinan in 1909, requiring the appointment of a health officer every two years; however, this ordinan was repealed during the recodification process in 1990; and I WHEREAS, since the City now has representation on the newly -formed Williamson County Health District, the State does not require that a health officer be designated-, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of the City of Georgetown, a resolution eliminating the position of City Health Officer, and the City Secretary to attest thereto.
