CAPITAL AREA PLANNING COUNCIL AND ESTABLISHING
EFFECTIVE I

WHEREAS, the United States Government, the Criminal Justice Division of the

VYTHEREAS, the Division of Police Services was the recipient of additional funds to
supplement existing funds for the purposes of combatting juvenile crime and delinquency under
a Juvenile Law Enforcement Officer grant; and
WHEREAS, the first grant year period will end and a resolution is required for the grant
to continue for the second grant year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements the Education Policy,
Facilities and Services Policy and Governmental Affairs Policy 1 of the Century Plan - Policy
Plan Element, and is not found to be inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan
Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY

The Police Department is hereby authorized to prepare a grant application for
continuation of funds for the Juvenile Law Enforcement Officer.

The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Secretary to attest thereto, a
grant with the Capital Area Planning Council on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
