WHEREAS, Section 332.021 of the Local Government Code specifically provides for the joint operation of parks and playgrounds by a City and an Independent School District- and, V WHEREAS, the Georgetown Independent School District has made Georgetown Junior High School available for joint use as a park -playground development, and,, WHEREAS, a substantial savings to the public will result by the joint development and use of school playground,-; for both school and park - Playground purposes; and, WHEREAS, by joint use of school facilities for both school playgrounds, as well as, for park -playground purposes, the public will benefit by having an increased number and higher quality located facilities; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements Facility & Services Policy 1 and Policy 2 (Goal B) of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, and is not found to be inconsistent with or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. Junior High Park Resolution No.lhna__._� Page 1 of 2 That the City Council of the City of Georgetown approves the plan for the park located at Georgetown Junior High School. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the joint -use agreement and the City Secretary to attest, and the City Attorney to approve after approval by the Georgetown *® School District.
