WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas, desires to develop 7,
viable urban community, including decent housing and a suitable living environment and
expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low to moderate inc•-

REAScertain conditions exist which represent a threat to the public health

WHEREAS, it is necessary and in the best interests of the City of Georgetown to appi
Ir funding under the 1991 Texas Community Development Program; and, M
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements Century Plan
Development Plan Policy #5, which states, "The City will provide water, wastewater, electricity,
aidd Y-eef-O-e huu%efiate-ax-d filbire—te-eisjif all citizexs vnit
which encourages and provides for economic development", and is not found to be inconsistent
or in conflict with any other Century Plan policies as required by Section 2.03 of the
Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE MY OF

A Texas Community Development Program application for Community Development
Funds is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the City with the Texas Department of
Commerce.
•
The City's application be placed in competition for funding under the Community
Development Program.
The application be for $250,000.00 of grant funds to carry out water and sewer system
improvements, street improvements, and flood and drainage improvements, engineering,, and
general administration costs.
The City Council of the City of Georgetown directs and designates the Mayor to act in
all matters in connection with this application and the City's participation in the Texas
Community Development Program.
The City commit $197,975.00 from its General Fund as a cash contribution to be
matched with Texas Community Development Funds to be used for street improvements and
general administration costs.
The City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute this resolution and the City Secretary
