PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND ESTABLISHING AN

WHEREAS, on June 10, 199 1, the City Council authorized the Mayor to sign a contract
with the Texas State Department of Highways and Public Transportation (SDH -Yr) to construct
a Park & Ride Facility from funds received through this contract up to $125,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that constructing a Park & Ride Facility wou
benefit the citizens of Georgetown who desire to carpool or use other means of pub
transportation; and, I
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into Amendment No. 1 of this contra(M
"attached) with the SDHPT which extends the effective date of the contract until August 3
1992; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the budgeting of this program in Account NJ
04-11-00-5002; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements Development Plan
Policy #15 which states, "The City will encourage a transportation system that provides for safe
and efficient movement of traffic, promotes the economic interests of the community, and
adequately serves the personal needs of individuals" and is not found to be inconsistent or in
conflict with any other Century Plan Policies as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative
Chapter of the Policy Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT:
The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are hereby fou 411
and declared to be true and correct, and are hereby incorporated by reference herein it
expressly made a part hereof as if copied verbatim.

The Mayor is authorized to execute and the City Secretary to attest thereto to Amendment
No. 1 of a contract, attached as Exhibit A, with the State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation on behalf of the City of Georgetown.
