HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 910389 - Gtown Business Retention SurveyM611111 I I MONNOWIN191 WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, the Georgetown Industrial Foundation, and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce have worked together to prepare and administer the 1991 Georgetown Business Retention Survey; WHEREAS, the Business Retention Survey enables the City, the Foundation, and the Chamber to strengthen the cooperation with the businesses and industries in Georgetown and to gather information regarding the needs of local businesses and industries; WHEREAS, the first phase of the 1991 Georgetown Business Retention Survey has been completed with the assistance of citizen participants from the Georgetown City Council, the Georgetown Industrial Foundation, and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce; WHEREAS, these citizens have exhibited outstanding commitment to econom development in Georgetown; i WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements Economic Development Policies I and 3 of the Century Plan - Pol' Plan Element, which state- 'The icy City will encourage diversified growth and promote business opportunities to create as broaden the tax base and minimize the impact of economic fluctuations " and 'The City will encourage all citizens to actively participate in local trade and commerce "; and WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action is not inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan-, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT: MUM The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this resolution are heretn found and declared to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim. i Business Retention Survey Resolution No. Page 1 of 2 The Mayor and City Council hereby recognize the significant contributions made by these citizens in support of the 1991 Georgetown Business Retention Survey.
