WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas, has a Youth Activity Center which
provides a recreational service to its youth; and,
WHEREAS, an average of 535 youths spend almost 1,200 hours each week at
Youth/Activity Center; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council f inds that additional Youth/Activity Center staff
are essential for the safe operation of the City's Center-, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that this action implements Recreatiom
and Cultural Affairs Policy #2, which states, "The City will assist in providirn-
all its citizens the opportunity to participate in recreational and cultur
programs", and is not found to be inconsistent or in conflict with any oth
Century Plan policies as"required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapt
of the Policy Plan. I
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETIOWN,
TEXAS, THAT:

The City Council finds that the recitals set forth above are true
correct and are incorporated herein as if copied verbatim. 1
The Council hereby approve5 funding of $6,200.00 from Council Contingency
to pay for 1,000 hours of additional staffing at the Youth/Activity Center.
The Mayor be authorized to execute and the City Secretary to attest
thereto.
