HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 890059 - Revise Schedule Functional PlanRESOLUTION NUMBER e9005q WHEREAS, the City Council on January 26, 1988, did adopt Resolution Number 880027.2 directing the Century P a Steering Committee and Task Group One to proceed wit development of the Land Use, Transportationt and Utilities Functional Plan Elements of the Century Pl and establishing August 31, 1988, as the date on whic these Functional Plan Elements should be completed a forwarded to the City Council for action; and I WHEREAS, the City Council on March 8, 1988, passed Ordinance Number 880097 adopting portions of the Policy Plan Element of the Century Plan pursuant to Section 1.08 of the City Charter; and WHEREAS, the committee of the Century Plan Steering Committee and Task Group one (known as the Working Group) has been working since February 1988 to develop the Land Use, Transportation, and Utilities Functional Plan Elements; and WHEREAS, the City Council on April 26, 1988, did adopt Resolution Number 880157 authorizing the staff to negotiate and the Mayor to sign a contract with Richardson-Verdoorn, Inc. to act as consultant in t development of portions of the Land Use, Transpor- tation, and Utilities Functional Plan Elements; and] WHEREAS, the Century Plan Working Group has determined that it is necessary to integrate the work of the consultant into the Land Use, Transportation, and Utilities Functional Plan Elements, and to conduct a public hearing on the Functional Plans prior to submitting them to the City Council for action; an WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this action implements Growth and Physical Development Policy 1, Transpor- tation Policies 1 and 2, and Utilities Policies 2 and of the Century Plan - Policy Plan Element, and is not found to be inconsistent or in conflict with any other Century Plan Policies, as required by Section 2.03 of the Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan; and WHEREAS, the Century Plan Working Group has endorsed the Revised Time Schedule for the completion of Century Plan Land Use, Transportation, Utilities Elements (Exhibit A) and recommends it to the City Council for adoption. I NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, THAT; All of the facts recited in the preamble to this Resolution are hereby found by the Council to be true and correct, and are incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof, as if copied verbatim; The Time Schedule for the Completion of Century Plan Land Use, Transportation, and utties Elements, as set forth in Exhibit A, shall be adopted as the revised work schedule of the Century Plan Working Group. 2) The revised Time Schedule establishes late June to early July, 1989, as the period during which the Land Use, Transportation, and Utties Functional Plan Elements shall be completed and submitted to the City Council for action. 3) Pursuant to Resolution Number 880027.2 each Functional Plan Element shall be considered complete prior to submittal to City Council when approved by consensus of the Steering Committee, and the Steering Committee has held no less than one (1) public hearing for discussion of each Functional Plan at which a quorum of its membership is present.
