RESOLUTION..O, LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, ` i:+
CANNAN AVIATION TO LEASE 7,900 SQUARE FEET OF LAND
LOCATED AT THE GEORGETOWN MUNICIPAL AIRPORTt GEORGE -

WHEREAS,

WHEREAS, the Airport Advisory Board has reviewed the terms of
this Agreement and recommends the acceptance of these terms in the
Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the city desires to lease 71900 square feet of property
to John H. Cannan Di.+ Cannan Aviationand JohnVii+ Cannan
forthAviation agrees to lease such property under the terms and conditions
set Agreement;
WHEREAS, the Citv Councilhas found that this action implements
THEREFORE,Facilities and Services Policy I of the Century Plan -- Policy Plan
Element, and is not found to be inconsistent or in conflict with any
other Century Plan Policies as required by Section 2.03 of the
Administrative Chapter of the Policy Plan.

That the City Council finds the recitals set forth above are true and
correct and are incorporated herein for all purposes.
SECTION II.

SUBJECT: Proposed Land Lease to John H. Cannan, DBA Cannan
Aviation
On April 17, 1989, the Airport Advisory Board voted to recommend to
the City Council that the City lease approximately 7t9OO square feet
of w w -e airport property w Mr. Cannan.property is
adjacent to the 13j500 square feet of airport property that Mr. Cannan
leasingis currently from
- proposed - use of property • the construction of
office addition to the existing hangar and to provide - to the
east -west taxiway4 The recommended rental rate is $0.04 per square
foot per year, - Lease term to run concurrentthe Lease on
- 13,500 square feet of airport wp-.
However, the Board also voted to recommend that the $0.04 per square
foot per year rental rate for the easterly 90' x 50' (4,500 square
feet) section of the whole parcel be effective only as long as no
commercial activity of any kind is conducted on this particular
section of the whole parcel (7,900 square feet). Should Mr. Cannan
conduct any commercial activity or make any improvements to this
section (90' x 501), the rental rate would immediately escalate to
$0.10 per square foot per year for the remainder of the Lease term and
any options.
The staff recommends that the Council approve the attached Resolution.
