WHEREAS, the City of Austin has ceased operations at its
Williamson Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant and has diverted all
flows from the modular wastewater treatment units at the
Williamson Creek plant to Austin's newly operational South Austin
Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Williamson Creek
wastewater treatment facilities are no longer part of Austin's
wastewater treatment system; and
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown has an increased need for
wastewater treatment capacity in view of the growth anti
development of Georgetown; and
WHEREAS, Austin and Georgetown have agreed that an efficient
solution to Georgetown's increased need for wastewater treatment
capacity and Austin's abandonment of the Williamson Creek
Wastewater Treatment Plant would be the conveyance of one of the
Austin's modular wastewater treatment plants to Georgetown; and
WHEREAS, both parties recognize and acknowledge that the
conveyance of Austin's modular wastewater treatment plant to
Georgetown is in furtherance of the public health, safety and
welfare and part of Austin's goal of improving water quality in
the area within and beyond the territorial limits of the City of
Austin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS:
SECTION I.
All the facts recited in the preamble to this Resolution are
hereby found by the Council to be true and correct and are
incorporated by reference herein and expressly made a part hereof,
as if copied herein verbatim.

That the Council hereby approves the Agreement, which is attached
hereto as Exhibit "A", between the City of Austin and the City of
Georgetown regarding the Conveyance of a Modular Wastewater
Treatment Plant.
That the Council authorizes the Mayor to execute and the City
Secretary to attest.
