Please consider this letter my application to lease an area north
of and adjacent to my north boundary, specifically, 70 feet to the
north by 348.9, feet. This would extend my ramp 70 feet to the
north, and I would appreciate it if you could make the lease run
concurrent to my existing Tease.
If you need any additional information, please don't hesitate to
call. Thank you in advance.
Very truly yours,

TO: Mayor and City Council
THROUGH: Frank Reed, Acting City Manager
FROM: Allyn Moore, P. E., DPW R
At our request, GMA Engineers submitted letter -form proposals to us for the preparation
of plans and specifications for two water main segments.
SEGMENT 1:
Approximately 1000 feet of 20 -inch water main. Total lump sum fee proposed is $2,000.
This is the final segment of the major main along Williams Drive.
SEGMENT 2:
Approximately 3000 feet of 12 -inch raw water transmission line. Total lump sum fee
requested is $3,500. This line is essential in connecting wells to the proposed
groundwater treatment plant.
The above fees include field work, plans, specifications (adoption of the City's
standard specifications), andassistancethrough the bidding phase. The prices
do not include any inspection or other services during construction, but it is
assumed that the latter phase will be handled entirely in-house. Our own staff is
currently committed on other projects.
The suggested fees for the above work appears very favorable; a proposal received
from another firm for the two engineering tasks totaled $30,500i
REqUEST:
That the City Council authorize the Mayor to sign an Agreement for Engineering
Services with GMA Engineers in the total amount of $5,500 for the work outlined in
the attached three proposals dated August 12, 1985.

SUBJECT: POLICE BUILDING RENOVATION
I had a call again today from David Voelter's office asking
if the Council had made any decisions on the above, relative
to the Court/Council chambers.
I told him that I had. sent you a memo the day he came over
here voicing his concern about this matter and that I would
see that it is on the agenda for next Tuesday.
Inasmuch 'as you probably have questions in your mind on this
subject, I asked him to be sure and come to the meeting. He
said he would. I am also instructing the Chief of Police to
be at the meeting.
The main questions, of course, is whether or not to
initially include the Court/Council room in the west part
of the building.

SUBJECT: KLIEN WELL
The new well out on the 'Klien property north of town is
presently being worked on by the developer, who is
responsible for completing it and laying the water line to
his sub -division. They are reaming the well, putting in the
casing and will soon set the pump. When this is done, they
will begin laying the line out to the road; therein lies our
problem.
The twenty foot easement in which the line will be laid and
the road constructed is such that it will be impossible to
build the road in it for the entire length of the easement.
The problem is that for a considerable distance there is a
gully, quite deep in places, that runs along the easement.
It appears that this is a natural drainage ditch for the
pasture to the south and an unknown area to the east.
I have walked this easement with Wink and it is his opinion,
with which I agree, that it will be necessary to get
additional footage for the easement in order to construct
some sort of road that would be passable in all kinds of
weather.
This will be an item on the next agenda.
