Applicant has requested approval for the widening of
Lester Drive between Georgetown Inner Loop Road and
Reinhardt Blvd. from 50' R.O.W. to 60' R.O.W.. A variance
is required to allow 3001 center line radius. (staff
has no objection to approval.)

8. VARIANCE - P.U.E. & B.L. - 3110 WHISPER OAKS, LOT 1 BLOCK A,
WHISPER OAKS SUBDIVISION
Applicant has requested that variance be granted to
allow storage sheds to remain encroached some 2.51 into
the side public utility easement.
While staff had indicated that the encroachment in question
does not conflict with existing utilities and is a func-
tional and attractive feature of the site,, neither the
deck nor the storage sheds were shown on the approved build-
ing plans* Building Dept. and Public Works has indicated
an objection to granting of variance due to the manner
in which the encroachment was built,
RECOMMENDATION: P & Z (5-0) Approve with the condition that a
letter be sent to Summey stating that the
Planning and Zoning Commission will not auto-
matically grant variances; and procedures With
the Building Inspection Dept., Public Works,
and Planning and Zoning Dept. should be
observed.

assembly of manufactured housing outside the confines of a
completely enclosed,structure.
CONCERNS: 1) Promotion of "spot" zoning.

Additional information has been brought to our
attention by Mr. Parker regarding ownership of
adjacent property and the alignment of existing
buildings. We have rediscussed this matter with
our engineers and conclude that
1) the road is necessary
2) it should align with Park Meadow Blvd.
Therefore, it is our recommendation that the road
(601 R.O.W.) be on the Williamsburg Village land but half
the cost of R.O.W. and construction be borne by the
developers of the adjacent unplatted and undeveloped
land to the west on Booty's Road.

a resolution authorizing the mayor to submit an

Affairs for funding under the Texas Community
Development Program and to execute the program

6. UNIVERSITY HILLS SECTION ONE - REVISED FINAL PLAT - NAME
CHANGE
Motion by Connor and second by Colbert to approve
the name change of University Hills Section One
to University Park. Motion carried by unanimous
vote.
7. STONEHEDGE SECTION ONE AND TWO - REVISED FINAL PLATS - STREET
Motion by Colbert and second by Connor to approve
the widening of Lester Drive between Georgetown
Inner Loop Road and Reinhardt Blvd. from 50'
R.O.W to 60' R.O.W. and grant a variance to allow
300' center line radius. Motion carried by
unanimous vote.
8. VARIANCE - P.U.E. & B.L. - 3110 WHISPER OAKS LANE
Motion by Shell and second by Connor to approve a
variance to allow storage sheds to remain
encroached some 2.5^ into the side public utility
easement with the condition that a, certified
letter be sent to Summe}' Plant Manager stating
that the Planning and Zoning Commission will not
automatically grant variances; and procedures
with the Building Inspection Department, Public
Works, and Planning and Zoning Department should

A. DISCUSSION OF PARKER-TIERRA INV. ROAD
After discussion by property owner
representatives Harold Parker and Bill Sa*te1le
outlining their respective positions regarding
the extension of Park Meadow Blvd.,, the council
recommended that the parties negotiate a
compromise acceptab1e to both parties as well as
the city staff and them return for council
consideration.
B. MISC. Planning Director Renee Hanson ask the council to
consider for future formal action modifications
to certain policies regarding the review of site
plans -and Qranting of variances for stormwater
detention.
20. CONSIDER CONTRACTING WITH ENGINEER - WINK WALDEN
Motion by Colbert and second by Connor to
authorize Director of Public Works 1.4|nk Walden to
procure cost estimates for engineering for 2
sewer projects and 3 drainage projects. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
21. RESOLUTION - MKT f`lF`E LINE LICENSE - WINK WALDEN
Motion by Connor and second by King to approve a
resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign a Pipe
Line License with the MKT Railroad with the
condition that the city negotiate with the
Railroad about the fees associated with license.

requirements.

Mr Hale, attorney for Dennis James, requested
that Mr. Dennis James~ records be closed pursuant

objection to this. Mayor Car] Doering announced
that the City of Georgetown and Dennis James have
on this day reached a complete and full and final
settlement of all their differences culminating
in a voluntary resignation of Dennis James as a
Police Officer of the Cit)' of Georgetown.
