SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
MAY 17, 1985
5:00 P.M.
1. Hearing of Dennis James appeal from his discharge as city employed police
officer, possible action by City Council on such appeal and possible
executive session by City Council on employee matters`- Article 6252-17
Sec. -2 (g)
I Pat Caballero, City Secretary of the City of Georgetown, do
hereby affirm that the foregoing minutes are true aod correct
minutes of ameetiog held by the city council of the City of
Georgetown on the above stated date, time and place with such
meeting being open to the public and notice of said meeting
giving the date, time, place and subject thereof, having been
posted as prescribed by Article 6252-17, Section 3A VATCS.

The City Council met in Special Session on the
above date at 5:00 PM with Mayor Carl Doering
presiding. The following Council Members and
Officialswere present: Eb C. Gjrvin, Bill
Connor, William C. Shell Joan King, Jim Colbert,
City Manager Leo Wood, City Secretary Pat
Caballero, Public Works Director W. L. Walden,
Planning Director Renee Hanson, City Judge Parker
Mccoll000h, City Attorney Joe McMaster, Police
Chief Travis Thomas and Airport Manager Ron
Parker.
1. HEARING OF DENNIS JAMES APPEAL FROM HIS DISCHARGE AS CITY
EMPLOYED POLICE OFFICER, POSSIBLE ACTION BY CITY
COUNCIL ON SUCH APPEAL AND POSSIBLE EXECUTIVE
SESSION BY CITY COUNCIL ON EMPLOYEE MATTERS -
ARTICLE 6252-17 SEC. 2. (0)
Mr Hale, attorney for Dennis James, requested
that Mr. Dennis James~ records be closed pursuant
to article 8252" Joe McMaster indicated no
objection to this. Mayor Car] Doering announced
that the City of Georgetown and Dennis James have
on this day reached a complete and full and final
settlement of all their differences culminating
in a voluntary resignation of Dennis James as a
Police Officer of the Cit)' of Georgetown.
2. MISC. No action taken on this matter.
3. ADJOURN Motion by Connor by Shell to adjourn. Motion
carried by unanimous vote.
