Area west of Smith Branch is in city limits and is zoned single
family. Proposed uses are appropriate.
COMMENTS: I) Some street realignments shall be required

III) Utilities must be adequate.
IV) Should be handled as a Planned. Unit Development.
V) Extension of ,16th: and 18th Streets should be
considered.

Above comments should be met. Also, proposed lot lines
which will abut existing lots should align with the existing
lot lines.
29. STONEHEDGE CONCEPT PLAN
Location and Surrounding Area.
Located south of Highway 29 about one mile east of Smith
Branch (next to Catholic Church).
Master Plan Sector 7.
Area is predominately undeveloped.
COMMENTS: I) Should consider a possible loop road along
power lines. Such a road would require
realignment of other proposed streets.
II) Utilities must be adequate.

Motion by Connor and second by King to approve
the May 8, 1984 and the May 21, 1984 Minutes with
the following corrections: under the section
dealing with Award Audit Proposals for Fiscal
Year 1983 - 1984 the word "bid" be dropped, under
the dealing with Williamson County lease
agreement should be changed to read ;-k-
resolution to this effect...." under the section
dealing with an Ordinance rezoning 3.988 acres
should be changed from-C2A to C2B. Motion carried
by unanimous vote'.

SAN GABR%EL PARK - GEORGETOWN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Mrs. \/ivam Wood appeared before the council to '

request on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce for
the use of San Gabriel Park for Chisholm Trail '
Days June 26 through June June 30 1984~ She
informed the council that the Chamber planed to
`
use the area around the gazebo, slab and new
parking lot. She further stated that in the .
interest of safety a barricade would be placed in
the road at the old restroom to prohibit traffic
from entering the lower road into the parking
lot" Motion by Shell and second by Connor to '
approve the request. Mot/on carried by unanimous

5. REQUEST -
INCREASE HOTEL/MOTEL TAX - TOURIST DEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION/'CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Erche} Brashear appeared before the council
representing the Tourist Development Commission
and Chamber of Commerce requesting that the
portion of the col lec ted Hotel/Motel tax that js
given to the Chamber and Tourist Development
Commission be raised from its present 1X to 3%.
This money would be used to Kelp increase the
amount of tourist that come to Georgetown� Motion
by King and second by Shell to approve the
request. The voting went as follows: Yes: King,
Colbert, Connor and Shell. No. G|rv/n. Motion
carried.
6. REQUEST -
LEASE AGREEMENT - CHAMBER OF COMMERCE '
The council considered a request from the Chamber
|
of Commerce for approval of a 99 year lease�� or a '
city oWned�s}te at the east corner of Hwy. 81 '
across from the Georgetown Commission Company. '
The use being for the construction of new chamber
offices" Motion by Connor to instruct the City '

staff to proceed to work up a lease agreement '
subjeqt to Council's approval. The voting went
as follows: Yes: Connory Shell and Colbert. No:

EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT - IST REACTING
Motion by Connor and second by Shell to approve
the first reading of an ordinance establishing a
program" of comprehensive emergency management
which. includes the mitigation, preparedness
response and recovery phases of civil
preparedness, acknowledging the office of
emergency management management director,
authorizing the appointment of an emergency
management coordinator; and providing the duties
and responsibilities of those officesidentfy*ing
and operational organ /zaticm;graMting necessary
powers to cope with all phases of emergency
management which threaten life and property in
the City of Georgetown; authorizing cooperative
and mutual aid agreements for relief work between
this and other cities or counties and for related
purposes;prohib|tiog unauthorized warning and
all -clear signals and making violations a
misdemeanor punishable by fine not to exceed
$200.00. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
33. RESOLUTION - COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS '
Motion by Girvim and Second by Connor to approve
a resolution to improve the effectiveness and
representativeness of the City of Georgetown's
system of Committees, Boards and Commissions.
Motion by Girvin and second by Connorto approve
the following recommendations:
' 1. That the council request each committee to
submit a written report by Oct. 1, 1984

containing a statement of its goal(s) and
functions, description of its organization and
pattern of work, and recommendations.
2. That all present members whose terms expire
before 10/'1/l84 be continued until that time;
except Joan King be replaced on the P&Z
Commission at the regular July Council meeting,
and that vacancies not caused by expiration of
term be filled according to the policies adopted
in the above resolution.
3. That the council combine present Budget and
Audit Committees into one standing Council
Committee on Budget and Audit composed of two
Council members (one of who may be the Mayor) and�
the City Manager, to be appointed at once.
4. That the Council establish an AD Hoc Committee
on Charter Revision» the vacancies to be
announced at once and members appointed ant the
- regular July Council meeting. The Committee
shall have 12 members compgsed of the Mayor, '
another Council member and 10 citizens at ]east
two of whom shall be lawyers and two residents of '
� ^ parts of the ETJ soon t� be annexed.

B. FOR FUTURE ACTION
1. Combine the present Parks and Recreation
Committees into one Standing community Committee
on Parks and Recreation with members from the
Council, citizens, and residents of the present
ETJ.
2. Clarify the purpose of the present Citizens
Advisory Committee, or abolish it and appoint Ad
Hoc committees on specific issues as they may be
needed.
