The City Council met in regular session on the above date at
7:00 PM with Mayor John C. Doerfler presiding. The following
Councilmen and Officials were present: Eb C. Girvin, Carl Doer-
ing, Marvin Lackey, Bill Connor, City Manager Leo Wood, City
Secretary Jim Colbert, Public Works Director W. L. Walden, Tax/
Finance Director Barbara Raney and Planner Renee Hanson. Council-
man William C. Shell was absent.
Minutes Motion by Doering and seconded by Connor to approve the minutes (.)I'
City Council meetings held August 9, 1983, August 16, 1983, AuFLI.';t 21,
1983 and August 29, 1983. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Bills Motion by Connor and seconded by Girvin to approve payment of a'll
bills over $2,000.00 Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Blue Hole Park The City Council instructed the City Manager to report at the
next regular meeting on recommendations for closing the road
through Blue Hole Park.
Use of Swimming Motion by Doering and seconded by Lackey to allow the School
Pool by GISD District to use the swimming pool on Williams Drive for scuba
diving lessons provided proper insurance is provided and approved
by the City Attorney. Motion carried by unanimous vote.
Airport - FAA Motion by Connor and seconded by Lackey to submit a bid of
Flight Control $15.00 square foot to the FAA for a Flight Control Center subject
Center to approval of a $1.4 million bond issue and an opinion by the
City Attorney that the City is not committed by submitting the
bid and can withdraw at a later date. Motion carried by unaiMOLIS
vote.
Building Line Motion by Lackey and seconded by Connor to approve a building
Variance - Lot 1 line variance on Lot 1, Block L, Reata Trails I. Motion carried
Blk. L, Reata by unanimous vote.

Highway Sign Motion by Connor and seconded by Lackey to request the Highway
Department to add Williams Drive to the IH 35 signs. Motion
