A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY STAFF TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR THE REHABILITATION OF THE EXTERIOR FACADE AND INTERIOR SPACE OF THE FORMER CITY TAX OFFICE NOW SERVING AS THE HISTORY AND VISITOR INFORMATION CENTER. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Georgetown finds that an History and Visitor Information Center must project a favorable physical preoyence, to its users and occupants to be effective in its mission; WHEREAS, the City Attorney has determined that the cost of rehabilitating the facade and interior of the structure already designated by the City Council to house such center, is an allowable expense for hotel/motel tax receipts; WHEREAS, the City Council desires to appropriate tourism funds not to exceed $ 25,000.00 for such purpose; WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown desires to solicit bids for such remodeling, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: SECTION. I. That City staff is authorized to solicit bids for the rehabilitation of the exterior facade and interior space of the History and Visitor Information Center, formerly the City Tax Office.
