SUBOECT; Seventh Street Water Line
Project No. 00329
In July of 1987v the City of Georgetown and G.W. Schmidt and
Company entered into a contract agreement for engineering
services on various water and wastewater projects" This work was
to include needed improvements to water and wastewater system to
further expand the transmission capabilities of water and
wastewater in the old section of town" A part of this work was
the Seventh Street Water Line Improvements Project.
On June 14, 1988,)bids were received for the Seventh Street Water
Line Project and Rueter Construction was the apparent to low ^
bidder. After reviews of the bids and tabulation, Rueter
Construction was still the low bidder with a low bid of
$78,851,50" This particular contract was bid as per unit
contract and all units were carefully reviewed by City Staff and
the |Engineer as to accuracy. Nevertheless, an contracts of this
nature bid quantities and actual quantities will vary up or down
a minor percentage"
Therefore, City staff is recommending that the contract be
approved to Rueter Construction for the low bid of $78,851.50
with a project budget of $86,736.65. No other funds beyond the
project budget will be spent without Council approval.
Funding source for this project will be Water Bonds.
