A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ATTORNEY
TO RETAIN A QUALIFIED FIRM FOR THE PURPOSE
O PREPARING
COMPLIANCEf
THAT THE FEES SHALL NOT ! $18,000.00
WITHOUT COUNCIL APPROVAL; THAT THE SUMS FOR
THESE SERVICES BE ENCUMBERED FROM
COUNCIL•NTINGENCY GENERAL FUND.
WHEREAS, the Citizens of Georgetown,recently
approved - • requiring the electorate process •
be revised to seven single member districts; and
WHEREAS, the process involved in preparing these districts so
that they comport with requirements of the Voting Rights Act and
meet Justice Department approval is a highly complex and intricate
process and
WHEREAS,tC Kt Y �� a ' n') e is qualified and
experienced in preparation of single member districts and
,WHEREAS, the City Council desires to retain Cj ��� Her--th
, � n,l for the purpose of preparing single member
districts fo the City of Georgetown.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
Section I.
That the City Council adopts the findings above as true and
correct.
Section II.
That the Citv Council authorizes retaininq i,,-ke o -W-1 N O-Ccth

boundariea-)for single member districts for the City of Georgetown.
That the fees • expenses shall n! exceed $18,000.00 without
approval •
Section III.
That the sum of $18,000.00 shall be encumbered from the Council's
General Contingency Fund.
