Rister outlining the proposed construction of the 12" water line alonz Rock Street. As a result of this letter I had a meeting with those two gentlemen this morning and they agreed to pay 40% of the total cost of this project if the City would: 1) Prepare the contract and be responsible for administration 2) Be responsible for preparation of engineering plans and specificat- ions (County would pay 40%) 3) Prepare interlocal agreement for approval by City Council and Commissioners' Court. 4) Be responsible for replacing any of the existing 12" line that might need to be done. The City would like to expand on this project and extend this 12" line up to Ninth Street to tie with an existing 12" waterline. They would also like.to build another 8" line from the inter- section of Fifth & Forest over to MLK. The City would 1 ' ike to have this project on line before May 1, 1989, AM order for them to prepare for the heavy summer demand. They would 'al -B like to contract for the project with the County agreeing to pay a pro-ra share that would need to be decided prior to bidding. I I have prepared estimates for both the City and County portions, however, this does not necessarily indicate the share of each party. As I said earlier, this should be agreed on prior to bidding. It would be my recommendation to you that an interlocal agreement be prepared to outline the details. It would be my opinion that this 12" waterline would handle not only this project but any anticipated expansioni If, you have any questions or need additional information, please contact me.
