The Parks: and Recreation Advisory Board met "Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 6:00 pin at 1101 N. College Street,

A Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Bob Johnson at 6:00 pm.
B Roll Call
Bob Johnson; Katherine Kainer, Bob Fake, Chuck Bridges, Keith Fruge, Glenn Holzer
Jason Shurley not present.
C Project Updates for Garay Park; Westside Park, San Gabriel Park, VFW Park, Village Parks,
Williams Drive Pool and San Jose Splash Pad
Kimberly Garrett presented updates on projects for Garey Park; Westside Park, San Gabriel Park, VFW
Park, Village Parks, Williams Drive Pool and San Jose Splash Pad.
D Update from the Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation
Kimberly Garrett stated their focus is on the Daddy Daughter Dance and is set for June 12' at the
Community Center. They are applying for a grant for a play sensory table to be put at the playscape. It
is an accessible play piece. They have approached HEB for a matching grant. They meet the first
Monday of every month at 7 pm in the Parks and Recreation Administration Conference Room,
E Consideration and possible action to elect the Secretary of the Parks and Recreation. Board
Motion made by Keith Fruge seconded by Bob Palko to elect Katherine Kainer as Secretary of the
Parks and Recreation Board. Approved 6-0
F Review, discuss and sign board by-laws and attendance policy for board members.
Motion made by Keith Fruge, seconded by Katherine Kainer to approve the by-laws. Approved 6-0
G Consideration and possible action to set date and time for 2015 Parks and Recreation board
meetings.
Motion made by Bob Palko seconded by Keith Fruge to set the Parks and Recreation board meeting on
the 2" Thursday of each month to begin at 6:00 pm. Approved 6-0
H Presentation and discussion on the proposed Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Plan
(Cl P).

Kimberly Garrett presented and reviewed the Parks and Recreation GIP to the board.
I Consideration and possible action to appoint a liaison to the Friend of Georgetown Parks and
Recreation.
Kimberly Garrett gave a brief description on of the Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation and
their mission. Chuck Bridges volunteered to be the liaison to the Friend of Georgetown Parks and
Recreation.
J Discussion on setting a date for the annual Park's Board park tour.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will meet on May 19, 2015 at 3:30 pm to take a park tour
pending scheduling of transportation.
K Discussion and possible action to approve the minutes from the February 12th, 2015 Parks and
