MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MTG. MINUTES
8:30 A.M. – FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2015
WILLIAMSON COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 710 S. MAIN ST.
2ND FLOOR NORTH CONFERENCE ROOM, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS
Board Members Present: Cindy Harrington, Vicki Jackimiec, JJ Parker, Amanda Parr, David
Kellerman and Taylor Kidd
Board Members Absent: Jim Wilson
City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager
1. The meeting was called to order at 8:34 a.m. by Board Chair David Kellerman.
2. Taylor moved to approve the May 8th board meeting minutes with two corrections by changing
the second “will” to “with” under the Promotion Committee report and adding Orozco after
Daniel’s name under the ER Committee report, Vicki seconded. All board members present
approved with corrections (6-0).
3. Matt Synatschk was absent so no HARC update was given.
4. Progress on Committee Reports:
a. Organization: David discussed highlights from the Table on Main wrap-up committee
meeting. Feedback on possibly offering a different sponsorship level next year with two
tickets for $500, giving this year’s ticketholder first shot at tickets for next year’s event
before they go on sale to the public, adding individual menu cards for guests, looking at
an event emcee, volunteer management improvements. We are looking to make
approximately $8200 off the event for downtown public arts/beautification projects
which is the highest amount Main Street has made off a first-year event. Final event
numbers will be reviewed at the next board meeting. David reviewed the city council
action plan presentation discussions on the Christmas lights, fundraising, the 8th St.
Courtyard project and feasibility study.
b. Economic Restructuring: Vicki reported the last Breakfast Bites on the topic of being a
Cultural District had approx. 48 people in attendance but a concern with lack of
downtown business attendance. Next BB topics include extended hours, second-floor
spaces for residences/businesses, and the Sheraton. The 3rd Monday Main Street Lunch
will be moved to Two Rivers Market on Monday, June 22. The status of the Downtown
Database is that the previous information is being updated, façade and sign grant

photos will be taken at the next quarterly Downtown Low Down meeting, Southwestern
University has Parent’s Weekend August 13-14 and Homecoming is October 16-18.
c. Design: David presented three bids for this year’s collectible Christmas ornament from
Custom Collectibles, ChemArt and Charleston Mint. After review of the different
ornament samples and pricing, Vicki moved to accept ChemArt’s bid, Cindy seconded.
All board members present approved (6-0). Prefer gold box with black felt liner. Taylor
discussed progress on Keep Texas Beautiful application with review of proposed board
bylaws, they will need to go to Legal for review. Also discussion of the KTB
subcommittees and if they should all fall under the Design Committee with support
from the entire board members during special events.
Amanda reported that Julie helped prioritize the Wayfinding and Signage Master Plan’s
remaining downtown signage including public restroom signs, naming parking lots and
possibly partnering with the museum and GHS on preservation-related signage on the
courthouse side of the square next May. The open bid for Christmas lights is being
prepared and will go out next month including the courthouse trees as optional, the
next step for the 8th St. Courtyard project is for staff to meet with Laurie. Also discussion
of a future downtown farmer’s market with Rusty Winkstern and Wolf Ranch. David
discussed parking study that was presented to city council including some of the
consultant’s recommendations like parking lot sharing with Bank of America after hours
and redesign of parking lots to improve flow.
d. Promotion: Cindy reported that Ladies Nite Out theme will be “Paint the Town Red”
there was discussion of different sponsorship cash and in-kind levels, artists will paint
on different corners of the square; there will be a call for art for a Ladies Nite Out poster.
5. Staff Report: Shelly reminded board members of the art center’s Women Painting Women exhibit
and Music on the Square every Friday night. TTIA Travel & Tourism College will take place June
22-26 and a group is attending Tyler’s Wine Swirl.
6. The next meeting will be on Friday, July 10. David adjourned the meeting at 10 a.m.
