Preserve, promote and enhance the cultural heritage and unique character of the community. Attract visitors to maximize the financial impact of tourism on the community. The Convention & Visitor Bureau Board met on Friday, June 12 at 8:30 am at Convention and Visitors Bureau Office, located at 103 W. 7th� Street, Georgetown, Texas. MEMBERS PRESENT: Don McCullough, Christy Fisher, Georgene Richaud, Karen Soeffker, Al Shankkle, Tauyna Vessels GUEST: Kimberly Garrett, Roger Kidwell f(�60jx I �> 2. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the J4*ne42—,2015 minutes Motion by Richaud, second by Fisher to approve minutes of June 12, 2015 meeting. Approved 6-0. 3. Governor's Cup Soccer Tournament Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant Follow-up Report Presentation — Roger Kidwell Kidwell presented the follow-up report from the event. The event generated approximately 160 room nights. The estimated attendance was 2,750 and 80% of the participants were from outside ® Georgetown. e U.I.L. State Soccer Tournament Hot I Occupancy Tax Grant Follow-up Report Presentation — Roger Kidwell Kidwell presented the follow-up report from the event. The event was extremely successful with a higher than expected attendance. The attendance was 16,302 and 86% of the attendees were from outside of Georgetown. The event generated approximately 215 room nights (does not includejamily andfriend room nights, teams only). This number should increase in future years due to the availability of additional hotel rooms currently being added (Hampton Inn & Sheraton). 5. East View Patriot Classic Softball Tournament Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant Follow-up Report Presentation — Kimberly Garrett Garrett presented the tournament follow-up report. Due to icy cond tions the tournament was cancelled on Saturday, February 28. The estimated attendance was less than expected due to 6. Discussion and possible action regarding wildflower planting on hike and bike trails Kimberly Garrett, Parks and Recreation Director, discussed the possibility of planting wildflowers on the hike and bike trails. She has been approached by a local girl scout troop to assist with the project. Garrett will work with the troop and inform the CVB Board how we can assist. No action was taken. 7. Discussion regarding visit to Sheraton McKinney Hotel and Conference Cente Discussion was held regarding the Board visit to McKinney on May 7 & 8. MembeI da attening felt the visit was successful. The Board briefly discussed the application form. 9. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of upcoming events. Miller briefed the current advertising and media efforts and forthcoming events.
