Smith, Suzy Pukys, Severine Cushing, Barbara Rauch, Larry Gambone Members Absent: None Staff Present: Shirley J. Rinn, Executive Assistant to the City Mana MINUTES Call to Order at 8:42 a.m. Legislative Regular Agenda A. Consideration and possible action to approve the Minutes from the April 21, 2015 SPCS Advisory Board Meeting—Severine Cushing, SPCS Advisory Board Secretary Motion by Gambone, second by Pukys to approve the Minutes from the April 21, 2015 SPCS Advisory Board Meeting. (Approved 5-0) B. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the recommendations to be made to the City Council for allocation of funding for Strategic Partnerships for Community Services Grants—C.O. Smith, Board Chair C.O. Smith provided an introduction to the process for going through each of the applications. Suzy Pukys also provided an overview of the process that was utilized in the prior year. Shirley Rinn told the Board that the primary focus for the meeting was to make a decision on the allocation recommendations for the City Council's consideration. She told them that if there were things that came up during the discussion about the process and items that might need to be reviewed or changed in the future that those items could be discussed further at future meetings, but during this meeting the primary focus needed to be the allocation recommendations. Family Eldercare $0 • Lifesteps Council $0 Home on Alcohol & Drugs • Assistance League of $0 • GENaustin (Girls $10,000 • Lone Star Circle of $40,000 Georgetown Area Empowerment Care Network) • Backpack Buddies $12,000 • Georgetown $0 • Ride on Center for $25,000 Palace Theatre Kids (R.O.C.K) • Brookwood in Georgetown $20,000 • Georgetown $42,000 • Run Free Texas $0 (BIG) Project • Boys and Girls Club of $40,000 • Georgetown $0 • Samaritan Center $10,000 Georgetown Symphony Society for Counseling and Pastoral Care • Boy Scouts of America, $11,000 • Getsemani $12,000 • Senior Center at $12,000 Capital Area Council, San Community Center Stonehaven Gabriel District, Pack 2935 • Georgetown Community $50,000 • Goodwill Industries $0 • Williamson County $0 Service Center -The Caring of Williamson Institute for Place County Excellence in Nonprofits (The Institute) • CASA of Williamson County, $10,000 • Habitat for $36,000 The Locker $10,000 Texas Humanity of Williamson County • Faith in Action Caregivers $20,000 • Williamson County $40,000 Williamson -Burnet $0 Crisis Center dba Opportunities Hope Alliance (WBCO) The Board also discussed some things that would be helpful in next year's process and the Board will meet at a later time to work on that process. Shirley Rinn told the Board that the recommendations are currently scheduled to go to the City Council on July 28, 2015. There was also some discussion regarding the reporting requirements and the types of information the Board would like to see included in the audit reports. C.O. and Shirley also provided an overview of the process moving forward, including the presentation to the City Council and how the Council would make the decision about approving the recommendations. There was also a brief discussion of what the future scope of the committee might be.
