A Call to Order
A MEETING OF THE CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE.
Berr called the meeting to order at 4:04 PM.
B Review and approval of the minutes from the 3/01/12 Charter Review Committee Meeting
Motion by Stribling, second by Berr to approve minutes from the 3/01/12 Charter Review Committee Meeting.
Approved 5-0.
C Discussion of possible amendment of City Charter Section 3.01 — General Election
The Committee completed discussion of City Charter Section 3.01. The Committee directed Staff to draft a
proposed Report to Council (draft) and present for possible action at the next meeting.
D Discussion and possible action to make recommendations concerning amendment of City Charter Section 2.02 —
Qualifications
Chapman presented a proposed Report to Council (draft) recommending amendment of City Charter Section
2.02. The Committee discussed the proposed report and revision of same.
Motion by Barnes, second by Brent to approve the proposed Report to Council (as revised) subject to future
revision for inclusion in the final Report to Council. Approved 5-0.
E Discussion and possible action to make recommendations concerning amendment of City Charter Section 2.06 —
Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem
Chapman described the item. The Committee discussed amendment language. The Committee directed Staff
to draft proposed amendment language and present for possible action at the next meeting.
F Discuss Agenda Items for 3/15/12 Meeting
Committee discussed and agreed to cancel 3/15/12 meeting due to Spring Break. Committee discussed and
agreed that 3/22/12 meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m. Agenda items will include discussion of possible amendment
of City Charter Section 2.07 — City Secretary, City Charter Section 5.06 — City Attorney, City Charter Section 5.08
Municipal Court Judge and City Charter Sections 5.01 and 5.02 — City Manager.
Motion by Rister, second by Berr to adjourn. The Meeting adjourned at 5:00 PM.
