Attract visitors to maximize the financial impact of tourism on the community.
The Convention & Visitor Bureau Board met on Friday, October 9 at 8:30 am at Convention
Visitors Bureau Office, located at 103 W. 7 1h Street, Georgetown, Texas. 1
MEMBERS PRESENT: Ray Dorton, Georgene Richaud, Karen Soeffker, Al Shankkle,
Christy Fisher
STAFFPRESENT: Cari Miller
GUEST: David Morgan, City Manager
Michelle Meaux, Capital Metro Regional Coordination Planner
1. Welcome/Call to order
The meeting was called to order by Vice Chair Fisher at 8-35 am.
2. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the September 11, 2015 minutes
Motion by Richaud, second by Soeffker to approve minutes of September 11, 2015 meeting.
Approved 5-0.
3. Introduction of new City Manager, DavidMorgan
Morgan was introduced to the Board and gave a brief overview of his experience.
4. Presentation on the Georgetown Transit Development Plan
Michelle Meaux presented information on the Georgetown Transit Development Plan.
No action was taken.
5. Update on Downtown Wayfinding Signage
Miller briefly discussed the Downtown Wayfinding Signage. Jack Daly, Assistant to t
Assistant City Manager, will attend our next meeting to present details.
No action was taken. I
6. Red Poppy Festival Subcommittee new member appointment
Shankkle volunteered to join the Red Poppy Festival Sub( -1
7. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of
upcoming events.
Miller briefed the current status of advertising and media efforts and forthcoming events.
The CVB September Monthly Report is attached.
