Preserve, promote and enhance the cultural heritage and unique character of the community. Attract visitors to maximize the financial impact of tourism on the community. The Convention & Visitor Bureau Board met on Friday, February 12 at 8:30 a.m. at Convention and Visitors Bureau Office, located at 103 W. 7 t Street, Georgetown, Texas. MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT STAFF PRESENT: GUEST: Regular Session 1. Welcome/Call to order Don McCullough, Ray Dorton, Georgene Richaud, Karen Soeffker, Christy Fisher, Al Shankkle (Arrived 8:37 a.m.) Taunya Vessels Cari Miller, Marcy Renneberg, Marie Woodard Jennifer Ramsey- Holleman, Author of the Lady's Dam book series Chair McCullough called meeting to order at 8:32 a.m. Legislative Regular Session 2. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the December 8, 2015 minutes. Motion by Dorton, second by Richaud to approve minutes of December 8, 2015 meeting. Approved 5-0. 3. Advertising Proposal Presentation — Texas Hill Country Shopping Guide and Tourist Handbook Ramsey- Holleman presented an advertising proposal relative to the inclusion of Georgetown and local merchants in her forthcoming fourth edition of her book, Lady's Day Out — Texas Hill Country Shopping and Tourist Guide due for release in 2017. The presentation included the development process for the Lady's Day Out book series, how the inclusion of Georgetown into the Hill Country book would be beneficial to Georgetown. Additional information was provided regarding various levels of participation opportunities for the CVB and local merchants with associated cost impact. Motion made by Richaud, second by Dorton that based on the presentation today, we attempt to acquire more specific information as to the impact the book has had, or the inclusion the book has had, on merchants in cities in our geographic area and ask Cari to discuss any further action with the DGA and that within the next two months this item be put back on the agenda. Approved 6-0. 4. Discussion and possible actions regarding updating the 2015-16 CVB Marketing Plan. No action was taken. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of upcoming events Miller briefed the current advertising and media efforts and forthcoming events.
