MAIN ST. 2ND FLOOR NORTH CONFERENCE ROOM, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS Board Members Present: Cindy Harrington, Vicki Jackimiec, JJ Parker, David Kellerman, Taylor Kidd and Jim Wilson Board Members Absent: Amanda Parr City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager; Matt Synatschk, Historic Planner; Jackson Daly, Executive Assistant; David Morgan; City Manager 1. The meeting was called to order at 8:31 a.m. by Board Chair David Kellerman. 2. Taylor moved to approve the October 9th board meeting minutes, Jim seconded. All board members present approved (6-0). 3. David Morgan introduced himself to the board. He has served as city manager for six months. His wife Tici attended Ladies Nite Out. David highlighted the approachability and availability of the Main Street Advisory Board. 4. Matt Synatschk gave an update on HARC activity, including: the Master Sign Plan approval for the historic Masonic Lodge, Tamiro Plaza design approval, the relocation of the Grace Heritage Center dumpster, and the proposed multi -family development in Old Town slated to be reviewed by Planning & Zoning. Additionally, the Planning department will move to the historic Light & Water Works building on January 1. This will also open space in the Georgetown Municipal Complex. Taylor asked about accessory dwelling units. The concerns, challenges, opportunities and process to amend the Unified Development Code (UDC) were discussed. David Kellerman asked for the status of the Tamiro project and the Chisholm Trail Inn. Matt reported neither has a definitive timeline. Cindy asked about the timeline for reconfiguring public parking lots. Matt reported that staff is reviewing each lot and waiting to assess the impact of the new parking lot. 5. Progress on Committee Reports: a. Promotion: Cindy reported that Ladies Nite Out received a $500 sponsorship from -�` Anytime Fitness. The Swag bags sold -out. Vicki reported that the Promotions Committee has a new member, Zack, who is also a commander at Ft. Hood. Vicki also reported on the Swirl. The poster will have a blonde, Gumbos will serve as the VIP area, the Bohls will be the honorary event chairs, and Swirl committee members will begin to attend the meetings. JJ asked why the board is working to secure a professional fundraiser if the Swirl is a signature event and not a fundraiser. Cindy stated that the event still requires sponsorships. Taylor offered to relay ethical guidelines for professional fundraisers. Vicki clarified that proceeds benefit the fagade and sign grants. Cindy also reported that the Salvation Army will have a red kettle downtown during special events in November and December. JJ stated that $65,000 was raised by the Salvation Army last year in Georgetown. Finally, Cindy reported that The Table on Main basket at the Texas Downtown Association Conference silent auction sold to the Downtown Manager in Hutto. b. Organization: David reported the December meeting will be short and at The Hollow restaurant. The board confirmed that December 151h at 6:30 p.m. worked best. The January meeting will also shift to January 15th to account for the holidays. c. Economic Restructuring: Jim reported that he was allowed to call one play from the sidelines during the Southwestern University football game. Also, the next Breakfast Bites is December 91h and will focus on the Sheraton Georgetown Conference Center and Hotel. Representatives from both Sheraton and the city will serve on the panel. Several new businesses are also opening downtown, including The Basket, the Knitting Cup, and new owners at Laurie's Too. The extended hours campaign received a lot of media coverage, including in Community Impact. The Shop Small Spree campaign has received a lot of publicity, and lots of photos have been taken with the Shop Small pirate eyepatch. There will also be a proclamation read at city council. The Downtown Diva database continues to be updated. The Ft. Worth site visit is scheduled for April 15 —17. Finally, the 3rd Monday Main Street lunch will be at Southwestern University. d. Design: Taylor reported that the committee is looking for committee members. The judges have been selected for the window decorating contest. The light walk is scheduled from November 18 at 6:30 pm. The Arts & Culture lunch meeting discussed the use of Hotel Occupancy Tax, and the committee is looking at ways to increase Arts & Culture funding. The committee is looking at ways to commemorate Earth Day in 2016, including highlighting storm water runoff. David reported that there are 260 ornaments to sell. The committee is still working to attract the Georgetown Farmer's Market. There will be an 81h Street Alley update in December. The Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) visitors commented on the availability of free parking, but highlighted the need to address gateways. �. The Best of Georgetown, TX awards reception also went well. City offices are moving to the historic Light & Water Works building before Thanksgiving. JJ requested that the budget for the fagade and sign grant be reported on in January. 1. Jim moved to adjourn the meeting, Taylor seconded. All board members present approved (6-0).
