HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_MSTAB_12.15.2015V EST. 1848 GEORGETOWN TEXAS MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD MTG. MINUTES 6:30 P.M. - TUESDAY, DECEMBER 15, 2015 THE HOLLOW RESTAURANT, 708 S. AUSTIN AVE. GEORGETOWN, TEXAS Board Members Present: Cindy Harrington, Vicki Jackimiec, JJ Parker, Amanda Parr, David Kellerman, Taylor Kidd and Jim Wilson City Staff Present: Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager 1. The meeting was called to order at 6:47 p.m. by Board Chair David Kellerman. 2. JJ moved to table approval of the November 13th board meeting minutes to January, Taylor seconded. All board members approved (7-0). 3. Matt Synatschk was absent so no update on HARC activity was given. 4. Progress on Committee Reports: a. Economic Restructuring: Jim reported that 98 people were in attendance at the Breakfast Bites on the Sheraton Georgetown development, and a hard hat tour of the Sheraton will take place on Thursday. Extended hours is being discussed as the next Breakfast Bites topic. The Shop Small Spree Treasure Hunt on Small Business Saturday gave away a basket worth $1923. The Holiday Hours campaign continues until Dec. 27 and will be assessed after it ends. b. Promotion: Cindy reviewed the preliminary final Ladies Nite Out budget with a tentative profit of $1373. Fifty-five vendors participated with Ladies Nite Out with the sale of 221 shopping bags, sold out of 110 swag bags and one $500 sponsor, Anytime Fitness. Vicki has Becca Huggins as the Swirl co-chair and Katy and Justin Bohls have agreed to be the honorary event chairs. Vicki reported new Swirl volunteers include Stephanie Blanck, Stephanie Featherstone, Blake and Val Nicholson and Anita. c. Design: Amanda reported that there were 18 participants in this year's Light Up the Square Holiday Lighting Contest. The awards were given out the Friday of Lighting of the Square. The Cullen building ornament sold out on the Saturday morning of the Christmas Stroll so CVB asked we order 100 additional ornaments next year. Organization: David mentioned he and Amanda roll off the board in February. Board discussion of more professional staff support from the city and board members volunteering to assist on committees. Staff Report: Shelly reviewed feedback from the Lighting of the Square and Christmas Stroll, and gave reminder of Jan. 13 Downtown Low Down Meeting. She is out of the office Jan. 21-22 for the Texas Downtown Association Board Retreat and New Texas Main Street Manager Training will take place in Georgetown Jan. 26-27. 6.
