MAIN ST. 2ND FLOOR NORTH CONFERENCE ROOM, GEORGETOWN, TEXAS Board Members Present: Vicki Jackimiec, JJ Parker, Amanda Parr, David Kellerman, Taylor Kidd and Jim Wilson Board Member Absent: Cindy Harrington City Staff Present: Tommy Gonzalez, City Councilmember; Shelly Hargrove, Main Street Manager; Matt Synatschk, Historic Planner 1. The meeting was called to order at 8:31 a.m. by Board Chair David Kellerman. 2. Taylor moved to approve the January 291h board meeting minutes with the condition of a correction to agenda item #6 the vote was 6-0 instead of 7-0, Jim seconded. All board members approved (6-0). 3. Matt Synatschk mentioned there were no February downtown cases for HARC. He had the kick-off meeting for an update to the Historic Resource Survey and it will take 12-15 months to complete. There will be a community history day in May for National Preservation Month. A new traffic light will go in at Austin Ave. and 5th St. Sam Pfeister submitted special use permit for his project at Rock and 3rd St., Tamiro Plaza II received HARC design approval. 4. JJ brought up having Vicki representing the b�o d at the Chamber Links talk at the Georgetown Chamber since last summer ( as told she couldn't represent the board in public settings. Vicki mentioned the difference being that she spoke with city staff and the Chamber in advance and is mainly discussing the Swirl. The board discussed with Councilmember Gonzalez about helping educate the public on the differences between DGA and Main Street, including presenting to the city council the board's successes throughout the year. 5. Progress on Committee Reports: a. Promotion: Vicki mentioned over half of the general admission tickets have sold, but need to push sales of the VIP tickets. Michael Walton secured Bending Branch Winery for the VIP area, and RD Commercial Paving is our main sponsor at $3000. Design: Taylor reported on the light walk findings of city and private sector lighting needing solutions for mid -blocks that are darker in the downtown. Amanda passed out Texas Main Street Program renderings of first draft of 81h St. Courtyard renderings and that three property owners have approved and waiting on written approval from a couple of other key property owners. A new farmer's market is looking at downtown on 61h St. between Bank of America and Monument Market, but having concerns with barricading to close off street, trying to get them to move into a city parking lot. c. Economic Restructuring: Jim mentioned Val Nicholson joined the committee. Two fagade and sign grant recipients will be presented checks at the April 13 Downtown Low Down. March 9 is next Breakfast Bites panel on, What Draws You Downtown, with Chet moderating, Kay Briggs, Judy Lester and Cari Miller on the panel. Tommy mentioned SU doing an economic impact study of students in Georgetown. Jim discussed idea of partnering with GISD's Fine Arts Director Carol Watson to bring students downtown on Sundays to perform. College Town Committee met and Spring Family Weekend is this weekend. Tommy mentioned extended downtown hours during SU event weekends. d. Staff Report: Shelly reviewed upcoming dates like Feb. 15 Main Street monthly lunch at Hat Creek, the Feb. 16 Chamber Link panel with DGA, and the March 9 Breakfast Bites. Next board meeting is set for March 11. Taylor moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:40 a.m., Jim seconded. All board members approved (6-0).
