Board Members: Dawn Jennings — Chair, Chris H'Luz, Bea Kinney, Chris Sypniewski Board Members Absent: Sheila Mills - Secretary, Jon Carey — Vice Chair, Anya Juan Risco, Staff Present: Nat Waggoner, Jana Kern Others Present: Teri Saltzman - ARCIL Regular Session (This Regular Session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas government Code 551.) A. Call to Order: Ms. Jennings called the regular ADA Board meeting to order on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 6:17 PM The Board may, at any time recess the Regular Session to convene in Executive Session at the request of the Chair, a Board Member, The City Manager, Assistant City Manager, General Manager of Utilities, City Council Member, or legal counsel for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551, and are subject to action in the Regular Session that follows B. Introduction of Visitors C. Overview of City's ADA Board and discussion of Disability Awareness Workshops with ARCIL. - Nat Waggoner Waggoner gave an overview of what the Board has been working on then turned it over to Teri Saltzman of ARCIL. Saltzman gave the Board an overview of what ARCIL is all about and what training opportunities are available for the board and city staff. D. Presentation of Employment Law: Fundamentals of the Americans with Disabilities Act training module for City of Georgetown staff - Nat Waggoner The Board reviewed a training module that will go city wide. E. Presentation and discussion of revisions to City's grievance and accommodations policy. - Nat Waggoner Waggoner reviewed the update policy. F. Presentation and discussion of establishment of departmental ADA liaisons. - Nat Waggoner Waggoner informed the Board that he went to the Directors asking for departmental ADA liaisons. To date, all but two of the divisions have assigned a person. Legislative Regular Agenda G. Review and possible action to approve the minutes from the Regular ADA Board meeting held June 10, 2016. — Jana Kern — ADA Board Liaison Kinney stated that the "???" that are under item "F" needs to be changed to Teri Saltzman. Kern stated that she will correct the minutes. Motion by Kinney second by Sypniewski to approve the minutes as amended. Approve 4-0-3 (Carey, Juan Risco, & Mills absent) H. Presentation, discussion and possible recommendation to approve the Chair, Dawn Jennings, to sign a joint letter of support for Faith in Action's application for FTA 5310 for FY 2017. - Nat Waggoner Waggoner explained what Faith in Action does for the community. Also stated that the Mayor has already signed the letter of support. Motion by Kinney second by Sypniewski to approve the Chair, Dawn Jennings, to sign a joint letter of support for Faith in Action's application for FTA 5310 for FY 2017. Approve 4-0-3 (Carey, Juan Risco, & Mills absent) Adjournment Motion by Kinney second by Sypniewski to adjourn meeting. Approve 4-0-3 (Carey, Juan Risco, & Mills absent).
