The mission of the Georgetown Convention and Visitors Bureau is to:
Encourage the community's economic success through promotion of Georgetown as a tourist destination.
Preserve, promote and enhance the cultural heritage and unique character of the community.
Attract visitors to maximize the financial impact of tourism on the community.
The Convention & Visitor Bureau Board will meet on Friday, November 11 at 8:30 am at
Convention and Visitors Bureau Office, located at 103 W. 7th Street, Georgetown, Texas.

1. Welcome/Call to order
Chair Richaud called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m.
Legislative Regular Session
2. Discussion and possible action regarding approval of the October 14, 2016 minutes
Motion by Dorton, second by Fisher to approve the October 14, 2016 minutes.
Approved 6-0
3. Presentation regarding the use of Local Hotel Occupancy Tax Revenue
Brian Sullivan provided a briefing regarding the legal uses of Hotel Occupancy Tax Revenue
and the two-step process used to determine a project's potential eligibility. In addition, he
clarified with several examples the nine categories of acceptable expenditures under which
the Hotel Occupancy Tax can be utilized.
Carolyn McCall -Squires provided insight into her activities as Assistant Director of
Marketing and Membership. She offered her support should the CVB require any assistance.
No action was required.
4. Presentation on the 2016-17 CVB Group/Meeting Advertising Plan
Woodard provided detailed insight to the various elements of the 2016/17 CVB
Group/Meeting Advertising Plan. A discussion of the elements of the Plan followed.
No action was required.
5. Discussion and possible action regarding advertising and media exposure and dates of
upcoming events
Miller briefed numerous upcoming events/meetings in Georgetown during the coming
holiday season. The December CVB Board meeting is cancelled.
No action required.
