Call to Order Board Chair Thomas Janes called the meeting to order at 6:44 p.m. B. Roll Call Board Members in Attendance: Thomas Janes: Chair, Alvin Gusman, Devione Lewis, Hannah Pierce, Jacqueline Massey: Secretary, Board Members Absent: Alyssa Hyle, Taylor Rennie, Cooper Cash C. Discussion and recap of the Lights on After School and Halloween Carnival events - Thomas lanes, Devione Lewis, Hannah Pierce and Jacqueline Massey Board members enjoyed collaborating with other organizations on a project. It was great to see all of the kids SPARKS from various organizations. Board members discussed how we can get more youth to the Lights on After School program for next year. Overall the Halloween Carnival was successful and members enjoyed participating in the event. Maybe next year the board can have booth and donate the money earned to a charity or breast cancer research. D. Discussion of application process for appointment to GYAB - Arica Keilers Thomas Janes and Hannah Pierce need to submit a resignation letter to end their term early. Members will be sharing with their friends and family about applying for the board. E. Discussion of the Youth Summit in Abilene- Arica Keilers The members visited the Youth Summit website to see if they would be interested in going to the summit next February. Thomas Janes and Hannah Pierce discussed their experience last year. Devione and Alvin would be the two board members that would be interested in attending the Youth Summit. F. Discussion of future events for GYAB - Arica Keilers Board members would like to see more service opportunities for members once a month. Also collaborating with other organizations to volunteer. Places to volunteer could include the animal shelter and the Red Poppy Festival. Events we could host could be a monthly movie night and end of summer bash. G. Update on informational classes to offer at the Recreation Center -Arica Keilers, Hannah Pierce, Alvin Gusman and Thomas Janes Members have had a hard time getting in contact with schools to come present at the Recreation Center. Hannah and Alvin had a difficult time of getting in contact with various schools. Thomas contacted Southwestern and they said they would be willing to come and speak. Legislative Regular Agenda H. Discussion and possible action to approve items to order with new logo - Arica Keilers Motion to approve a black t -shirt, polo, and pens with a white logo was made by Devione Lewis and seconded by Hannah Pierce. The logo and t -shirts were approved 5-0— 3. I. Discussion and possible action to approve the minutes form the October 3, 2016 Youth Advisory Board meeting Motion to approve the minutes was made by Jaqueline Massey and seconded by Hannah Pierce. The minutes from the October 3 Youth Advisory Board meeting were approved 5-0— 3. Adjournment Thomas Janes motioned to adjourn the meeting and Jaqueline Massey seconded the adjournment.
