HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes_CVSVS_01.25.2017Minutes of Meeting for the Civil Service Commission City of Georgetown January 25, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. The City of Georgetown Civil Service Commission met on January 25, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Georgetown Municipal Complex — Williamson Rm — 300-1 Industrial, Georgetown TX. 78626. In attendance were; Tadd Phillips, HR Director, Elliott Harper, HR Generalist, Laura Maloy, Mayor Pro Tem Steve Fought, Glenn Mautner, Jim Montgomery, David Morgan, Wayne Nero, John Sullivan, Commissioners Hank Michel, Gordon Pierce, Luis R. Zamot Call to Order at 12:00 p.m. Regular Session (This Regular session may, at any time, be recessed to convene an Executive Session for any purpose authorized by the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code 551). A. Updates by Civil Service Director a. Director - today we would like to celebrate and recognize outgoing Commissioners Montgomery and 1Vlautner, We would also like to approve the lire Eligibility List and elect a chair and co-chair B. Consideration and possible action to elect Commission Chair a. Motion to appoint Commissioner Michel to Chair by Commissioner Pierce, 2""' By Commissioner Zarnot, approved 3-0 C. Consideration and possible action to elect Commission Co -Chair a. Motion to appoint Commissioner Pieree to Co -Chair by Commissioner Zalnot. 2°`3 by Commissioner Michel, approved 3-0 D. Consideration and possible action to certify Firefighter/Paramedic Entry Eligibility List a. Dep. Civil Service Director goes over test material from entry fire exam, requests a valid list for a period of 12 months. there were t9 potential candidates taken from this exam that passed and meet minimum qualifications, currently have 3 openings and anticipate 2 more in the spring. Motions by Commissioner Pierce, 21"' by Commissioner Zarnot — approved 3-0 E. Recognition of former Civil Service Commissioner Jaynes Montgomery and Glenn Mautner a. Director speaks to the respect we have 11or outgoing commissioners Mautner and Montgomery and their great contributions to the City. Mayor Pro Tem fought shares stories about each Commissioner and thanks them both for their great service then presents them evith plaques celebrating their time on the board. F. Adjourn a.
