Home My WebLink AboutORD 79-13 - Abandoning Easementf i , 9 ORDINANCE 79-13 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE GEORGETOWN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT PROVIDING FOR THE EXCHANGE OF REAL PROPERTY WHEREAS, it is found and determined that the notice as required by Article 5421q has been received by the City of Georgetown and has been given publically in a newspaper of general circulation as provided in Article 5421q; and, WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the 13th day of March, 1979, as required by 5421q, and all interested parties have been given the opportunity to speak; and, WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown finds and determines that there is no feasible and prudent alternative to the use or taking of the land described on Exhibit A, said land to be acquired by the Georgetown Independent School District to be used for public educational purposes; and, WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown finds and determines that the proposed project to acquire the land described on Exhibit A for use for public educational purposes incl udes all reasonable planning to minimize harm to such land as a park or recreational area resulting from such use or taking; and, Y WHEREAS, it would be of a benefit to the citizens of the City of Georgetown and the scholastics of the Georgetown Independent School District to make the land described on =� Exhibit A available to the Georgetown Independent School District for public educational purposes; therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN, TEXAS, that the Mayor of the City of Georgetown is authorized to enter into a contract with the Georgetown Independent School District providing for the exchange of the real property described on Exhibit A attached hereto for the real property described on Exhibit B attached hereto.
