ORDINANCE 79-13
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE GEORGETOWN INDEPENDENT
SCHOOL DISTRICT PROVIDING FOR THE EXCHANGE OF REAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, it is found and determined that the notice as required by Article 5421q
has been received by the City of Georgetown and has been given publically in a newspaper
of general circulation as provided in Article 5421q; and,
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on the 13th day of March, 1979, as required by 5421q,
and all interested parties have been given the opportunity to speak; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown finds and determines that there is no feasible and
prudent alternative to the use or taking of the land described on Exhibit A, said land to be
acquired by the Georgetown Independent School District to be used for public educational
purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown finds and determines that the proposed project to
acquire the land described on Exhibit A for use for public educational purposes incl udes
all reasonable planning to minimize harm to such land as a park or recreational area resulting
from such use or taking; and,
Y WHEREAS, it would be of a benefit to the citizens of the City of Georgetown and the
scholastics of the Georgetown Independent School District to make the land described on
=� Exhibit A available to the Georgetown Independent School District for public educational
purposes; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GEORGETOWN,
TEXAS, that the Mayor of the City of Georgetown is authorized to enter into a contract with
the Georgetown Independent School District providing for the exchange of the real property
described on Exhibit A attached hereto for the real property described on Exhibit B attached
hereto.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 8th day of April, 1979, on first reading, and passed
and approved this 30th day of April 1979, on second reading.

EXHIBIT A
(Legal description of tract to be acquired by Georgetown.ISD)
BEING 7.067 acres of the C. Stubblefield Survey, Abstract No. 558, in Williamson
County, Texas, part of Outlot 45 in the City of Georgetown, Texas, also being
part of 17 acres conveyed to the City of Georgetown in Vol. 357, Page 493, Deed
Records of Williamson County, Texas. Surveyed on the ground in February of 1979,
by Wm. F. Forest, Jr., Registered Public Surveyor No. 1847.
BEGINNING at an iron pin found at the Northeast corner of a 3.03 acre tract
conveyed to R.C. Hutton in Vol. 323, Page 302, D/R, at a bend in the West line
of a 4.31 acre tract owned by F. Rodriguez$ described in Vol. 346, Page 173, D/R,
and at a bend in the South line of the above referenced 17 acres.
THENCE with a fence, N 89`34'15" W 110.04 feet, an iron pin found at the upper Northeast
corner of a 7.186 acre tract previously surveyed for the Wesleyan Nursing Home,
S 89956'10" W 167.59 feet, a nail in a fenee,post, and S 89°58'20" W 131.35 feet, to
an iron pipe found in the East R.O.W. line of Scenic Drive.
THENCE with a fence, N 02052130" W at 160.73 feet the fence bends Northwesterly,
continuing in all 222.22 feet to set an iron pin in the East R.O.W. line of Scenic
Drive.
THENCE N 23000'30" W 129.45 feet with the R.O.W. line to set an iron pin in a fence.
THENCE with the fenced boundary of a 0.052 acre tract surveyed for a water pumping
station, N 71°47'25" E 45.01 feet, a fence corner post, N 18051' W 46.48 feet, a
fence corner post, and S 77°18'35" W 49.01 feet to an iron pin set in the East line
of Scenic Drive.
THENCE N 23000'30" W 84.85 feet to an iron pin set in the East line of Scenic Drive,
1.03 feet West of a fence line, at the beginning of a curve to the right with a
radius of 280.30 feet.
THENCE with the arc of the curve, the chord bears N 13°01145" W 96.10 feet to an
iron pin set in the East line of Scenic Drive.
THENCE with the South line of a 5 acre tract described in a deed to Georgetown
Independent School District of record in Vol. 467, Page 489, D/R, N 52033'30" E 131.23
feet to an iron pin, and N 45°35'30" E 217.0 feet to an iron pin.
THENCE with the boundary of a 2.65 acre tract conveyed to Georgetown Independent
School District in Vol. 466, Page 570, D/R, S 09°49'30" E 173.0 feet, an iron pin,
S 66°25'00" E 329.4 feet, an iron pin in the North line of 19th Street, and
N 69°55'30" E 87.0 feet to an iron pin in the North line of 19th Street, at the
Southwest corner of Lot 14 , Block F of the South San Gabriel Urban Renewal Addition.
THENCE S 20°04'30" E 35.00 feet to an iron pin in the South line of 19th Street.
THENCE S 69055'30" W 155.0 feet with the South line of 19th Street to an iron pin
at a fence corner.
THENCE S 19°13' E 208.75 feet with a fence to an iron pin found at the Northwest
corner of the F. Rodriguez 4.31 acre tract.
THENCE S 14033'55" W 244.55 feet with a fence to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
