AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE ASSESSMENT
RATIO FOR AD VALOREM TAXES AT 100%
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 1981 AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown, Texas, currently assesses ad valorem
taxes at a ratio of 60% of market value; and
WHEREAS? Section 26.02 of the Texas Property Tax Laws requires an assessment
ratio of 1001/6 to be effective January 1, 1981; Now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas:
Section 1. Effective January 1, 1981, the Assessment Ratio for Ad Valorem
taxes on property in the City of Georgetown, Texas, shall be at 100%.

1981 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City of Georgetown Texas, currently assesses ad vahorem
taxes at a ratio of 60% of market value; and
WHEREAS, Section 26.02 of the Texas Property Tax Laws requires an
assessment ratio of 100% to be effective January 1, 1981; Now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown, Texas:
Section 1. Effective January 1, 1981, the Assessment Ratio for Ad
Valorem taxes on property in the City of Georgetown, Texas, shall be at
100%.
Section 2. For the preservation of order, and general welfare, an
emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage.
READ, PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Georgetown,
Texas on first reading as an emergency this 16th day of December 1.980.
